Harry Potter, Magic, and the "Real" Universe
By definition, an elixir is a substance to cure all ills. A potion is a medicinal, magical, or poisonous beverage.
Professor Snape knows all about elixirs and potions! |
"We need a renaissance of wonder. We need to renew, in our hearts and in our souls, the deathless dream, the eternal poetry, the perennial sense that life is miracle and magic." -- E. Merrill Root |
Magic is employing one's will to effect a change in reality. The will, or the gift of conscious choice, imparts the ability to focus experience and knowledge onto a desired result. |
Welcome, muggles and wizards alike! -- everyone and any body who needs to know more about the "reality" behind the world of HP. Isn't it interesting that both wizards and muggles know much more about the magic world than they do about the "real" counterpart world? I guess there's good reason it's called MAGIC.There is an entire universe of ideas behind the world of Harry Potter. They are explored here, "here" being a compendium of the way muggles see ideas and objects and creatures which we know are real, exploring how they have turned many of our wizarding realities into fictions and fairy tales. This has been adapted from my end of term parchment for my Hogwarts class in Muggle Studies, and I have appended it with wizard knowledge I didn't need in that class. I'm Goth Lupin and I like to study almost as much as Hermione does!

"It's not the secrets people want; it's the mysteries. Magic jolts our minds, turns the world upside down and fills us with wonder and astonishment. It also reminds us of something most witches and wizards already know – that the impossible is possible after all." |
"There is no adequate defense, except stupidity, against the impact of a new idea." -- Percy Williams Bridgeman, American scientist (1882-1961)
"Aspire, break bounds. Endeavor to be good, and better still, best."
